PawsWithCause begin as a simple art outreach to help people find purpose and build confidence while learning to do art. Yes, anyone can do this. We take away the scary parts! The great thing about this is, our participants help shelter pets while having fun. By creating a wonderful picture of a shelter pet they’re helping them get seen outside the cages. We know not everyone can adopt a shelter animal, but anyone can help!

PawsWithCause helps people and animals in need, through art. We bring an opportunity to all people to join in and create a community that cares about people and shelter pets. We create hand-drawn sketches of the shelter animals, attend events, art fairs, farmers markets and more. We host paint parties to bring awareness to shelter pets, teaching light art techniques. These are held at local businesses, corporate offices, The Schack Art Center, in our new gallery in Bellis Fair Mall (Bellingham) and more. Our work invites persons from all walks of life and capabilities. One of our happiest moments was a comment from an 85-year-old lady with Alzheimer’s who said to us, “This makes you feel like you’re more than you thought you were”.
