We are looking for a driver to drive a 15 passenger van on day trips for seniors. Day trips are 2-5 hours depending on the trip. Minimum of two trips a month, maximum two trips per week. :)

Date & Hours: Monday-Saturday, between 8-6pm, depending on trip date and time.

*Must be 21 year of age and able to pass vehicle driving test

This volunteer opportunity consists of sorting, stocking food, portioning bulk food, and helping distribute food to clients.

It is a safe place where teens can come and simply be themselves. Leaders Club is a year-long leadership-development program for middle and high school teens. We are looking for volunteers to join our team to be on-call purely for translation assistance to ensure we have the workforce able to serve our population.

After your initial training and orientation, you will join a team of dedicated and passionate volunteers to be on-call when your language skills are needed. With experience and further training you can take on leadership and response coordination roles to have a wider impact. At the same time, you’ll be developing skills that you may choose to apply to larger-scale disaster response efforts with the Red Cross.

Every day, the American Red Cross sees the heartbreak of people trying to cope with more intense storms, heavier rainfall, higher temperatures, stronger hurricanes and more devastating wildfires.

As more people rely on the Red Cross for help, the need for compassionate volunteers has never been greater. Volunteers help comfort and support people who are forced from their homes due to fires, storms and other emergencies, so they don’t have to face tough times alone. Shelter Support Team: During large disasters, you can support the day-to-day activities within a shelter which may include working in reception, registration, feeding, dormitory, information or other areas within a shelter. Free online training will be provided. If the need arises, volunteers are asked to commit to multiple local shifts of 4-12 hours each. For those able to travel outside of their local area, a commitment of at least 14 consecutive days, working 8- or 12-hour shifts is required.

Disaster Health Services Team: During large disasters, you can use your professional skills as a licensed healthcare provider to deliver hands on care and education to shelter residents. Free online training will be provided and can count towards nursing continuing education units. If the need arises, volunteers are asked to commit to multiple local shifts of 4-12 hours each. For those able to travel outside of their local area, a commitment of at least 10-14 consecutive days, working 8- or 12-hour shifts is required. Qualified licenses include RN, LPN, LVN, EMT, Paramedic, MD, DO, PA, NP, APRN. Only RNs have full scope of practice.  

Disaster Action Team: While big hurricanes and wildfires get the most news coverage, smaller disasters are no less devastating to the families affected. Most of the 60,000 emergencies that the Red Cross responds to each year are smaller disasters like home fires. As a Disaster Action Team volunteer, you can help comfort and support people in your community by meeting any immediate needs such as food, shelter, clothing or supplies and connecting them to long term recovery services. We supply all the training you need.

Disaster Health Services Responders provide disaster health care by meeting the disaster related health needs of clients and providing support to other volunteers. Support to the DAT response, shelter operations, emergency aid stations, outreach activities, and casework and recovery planning during a disaster relief operation .

Time Commitment: Minimum 8-hours per month

Requirements: Have an active license in one of the following: Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Paramedic, Medical Doctor (MD), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO), Physician Assistant (PA), Nurse Practitioner (NP), Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)

VOA’s volunteer Pickleball Ambassadors oversee daily pickleball operations, ensuring a positive experience for all players. In exchange for their ongoing service, Pickleball Ambassadors can enjoy free pickleball play during open sessions at the Sky Valley Center.

Pickleball Ambassador Responsibilities:

o   Ensure a positive environment for all players: welcome new players; orient new players to rules and etiquette; enforce VOA’s Code of Conduct and pickleball rules.

o   Set-up pickleball courts at beginning of session, take down at end of session, and ensure gym is clean and free of debris at end of session.

o   Communicate as soon as possible with Center Manager in event of absence due to illness or unforeseen event; participant violation of Code of Conduct; equipment issues; or facility concerns.

o   Agree to oversee one full pickleball session each week, and communicate with at least two weeks’ notice in event of upcoming absence.

o   Ensure that all players who participate have completed a VOA registration or membership form, have checked in at the Sky Valley Center, and have: 1) paid a daily rate or punch card; 2) receive financial assistance to play; 3) are playing w/ a promotion (ex: free pass, one week free); or are a VOA-approved Ambassador, staff or partner.

NAMI Washington launched The Brainpower Chronicles: Mental Health Stories to bring people together in their experiences of mental illness and recovery. Mental health crises can be some of the most isolating health events one may experience in this lifetime, with a ripple effect that impacts entire families. The Brainpower Chronicles is our way of creating community and breaking down the stigma that keeps people silent, while raising funds for NAMI Washington’s critical mission to improve the quality of life of all people affected by mental illness.

PawsWithCause helps people and animals in need through art. 
Our program shows off the painted pet portraits of animals in shelters through our hallway galleries. These galleries are in places like Fred Meyer, restaurants, vet clinics, pet stores and more. 
Pierce County, Seattle, Lynnwood, Everett, Marysville, Bellingham.  Please let us know where you are!

We need individuals to stop in every week or so, straighten the pictures and do a quick inventory of our information cards which we use to represent the animals. This is fun and easy to do, it takes about five minutes. You're also representing PawsWithCause and the outreach and effort we make within the community each and every day. 

During the holidays and special events, we are always needing volunteers to help with small projects!

VOA's Early Resolution Program (ERP) mediates with landlords and tenants to help resolve back rent issues and keep people in their homes.

We also offer a Landlord-Tenant/Small Claims Court Mediator practitioner track for those interested in mediating in the court to help alleviate the backlog on small claims court cases.

Volunteers needed on Mondays to call Bingo from 1pm-3pm. You will be calling Bingo to a group of 25 seniors using a professional Bingo system which includes a casino grade ball spinner.

Do you have experience driving? Would you like to go on adventures with our seniors? The Carl Gipson Center is looking for drivers who have the ability to drive a 15 passenger vehicle. CDL is not required. 

Trips are usually between 5-6 hours and begin and end at the Carl Gipson Center. A staff member always accompanies the group. 

Trips are scheduled around driver availability. 

A driver's abstract and a reasonable driving record are required. 

Training on vehicle use will be provided. 

VOA's Carl Gipson Center is a 20,000 ft sq community center that focuses on seniors (50+) during all operational hours, and welcomes people of all ages after 2pm on M-Th and all day Saturday.

We depend on reliable, positive volunteers to offer programs, classes, clubs and services to our community. Examples include: dancing, drama/theater production, music, scrapbooking, and inclusive groups based on shared experience, culture, language and/or country of origin.

We need of a committed leader to coordinate our weekly Clothing Closet. 

The role requires two shifts: one on a weekday or Friday morning, to prepare to serve families; and the other on Fridays from 1:30 to 4:30pm. 

Role Responsibilities:

Sort new clothing donations, evaluating for quality. Organize those that are new and/or of good quality in racks and bins of our mobile Clothing Closet. Bag other clothes for donation or disposal.

Create and enact policies and procedures for families receiving donations.

On Friday afternoons: With help from Center staff and volunteers, set up Clothing Closet racks and bins upstairs; serve & track families coming through Closet; put away Closet at 4:30pm.

Communicate with Center leadership about much-needed items, for communication with potential donors.

The Seattle Angels has a Love Box program that provides fostering families (caregivers, children in foster care, and biological/adopted children) with community and holistic support. This wrap-around support enables caregivers to continue to do the important and meaningful work of being foster parents. As a Love Box group, you will be matched with a local foster family based on location, compatibility, and scope of needs. When our families are matched with committed volunteers who show up monthly, parents feel supported and children gain a greater sense of normalcy, relational permanency, and self confidence.

Volunteers seek to build relationships with their family by spending quality time with the whole family: playing games, sharing a meal, and being intentional. They can also create and deliver personal care packages based on current practical needs. We tell our volunteers to think of themselves as the fun "auntie" and "uncle" who visits once a month to bring love, encouragement, and hope. This program requires a one year commitment, but the connections and impact last a lifetime.

Come get groovy with the Voices of the Village! Music practice for our clients' band is every Friday from 11 am-1 pm. Voices of the Village also has gigs and events around Snohomish County where volunteers can help with set up, support, and clean up.

The Village Music and Arts Program Volunteer helps the Resource Development Manager and Lead Volunteers provide support to the Music and Arts Program in an array of capacities. You will be aiding the Resource Development Manager as they plan, coordinate, supervise and provide oversight to all resource development and marketing activities and the Music and Arts Program of Village Community Services. 

Qualifications: Ability to read and write, take direction, and a desire to work in the non-profit sector and specifically on behalf of people with diverse disabilities
