Description

Help Purrfect Pals cats find their forever homes at our Arlington adoption center! We are looking for cat lovers who can spare a few hours a week to care for the cats and help match them with potential adopters.

Role Overview:

Adoption Counselors play a vital role in creating positive experiences for both the cats and potential adopters. You’ll help ensure every adoption is a successful, happy match.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and engage with potential adopters, answering questions and sharing information about the cats
  • Facilitate introductions between adopters and cats to ensure a good fit
  • Assist with adoption paperwork and processing payments
  • Provide guidance on cat care, supplies, and tips for a smooth transition into a new home
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming adoption environment
  • Collaborate with fellow volunteers and staff to ensure a positive experience for everyone

Qualifications:

  • Passion for cats and animal welfare
  • Friendly, patient, and approachable with the public
  • Comfortable using computers for adoption paperwork
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to a regular schedule once a week or every other week for 2-4 hours per day

Purrfect Pals is unable to offer court-ordered community service opportunities. We also do not accept volunteers who have been convicted of any felony, animal cruelty or theft charges.

Please note:

For volunteers joining us for school community service hours, we would like to remind you that we do require a five-month commitment before we sign off on hours. 

For volunteers needing court-ordered community service hours, we sadly do not fit the criteria and are unable to sign off on hours.
