Volunteer: Volunteers needed! Community Outreach Tabling Team!! We're building a small, tight-knit crew of community ambassadors to represent VOAWW at local events across the area

Be the face of Volunteers of America Western Washington!!! The Street Team!!

We're building a small, tight-knit crew of community ambassadors to represent VOAWW at local events across the area — tabling, sharing our story, and connecting people to the work that changes lives every day.

You'll work in pairs, so you'll always have a teammate — but we need folks who show up, take this role seriously, and understand that every interaction at that table reflects directly on our organization and the people we serve.

What we're looking for:

Outgoing and personable. You enjoy talking to strangers, starting conversations, and leaving people with a smile.

Knowledgeable about VOAWW's mission. We’ll give you the information and materials to prepare you, but we’ll expect that you can speak to it confidently and authentically.

Dependable and trustworthy. When you commit to an event, people are counting on you — your teammate, the organization, and the community.

Weekend availability. Most community events happen on Saturdays and Sundays.

Own transportation. Events are spread across the county — you'll need reliable transportation to get there and back.

Able to carry up to 25 lbs. Tabling means carrying supplies — banners, materials, tables, donations. Light lifting is part of the gig.

What you get out of it:

You’ll get to attend these events and make great community connections. The satisfaction of putting good into the world. A solid group of like-minded volunteers to work alongside. And the knowledge that you're helping VOAWW do what it does best — showing up for people when they need it most.

If you are interested, please respond- we will be setting up an orientation this month. :)

Volunteer: The Women & Children's Pallet Shelter Village: Community Elder Volunteer!!

Do you have life experience, practical skills, and a desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of families?

The Women & Children's Pallet Shelter Village is seeking compassionate indivdual/group volunteers to serve as Community Elders. Community Elders provide the kind of support, encouragement, and guidance that many of us receive from trusted family members, neighbors, mentors, or grandparents.

This role is not about being a case manager or counselor. Instead, Community Elders help create a welcoming and supportive community by spending time with residents, sharing life skills, offering encouragement, and building positive relationships.

Examples of volunteer activities may include:

Teaching basic life skills such as budgeting, cooking, organization, or household management Helping children with homework, reading, or simple activities Sharing hobbies, crafts, gardening, or other practical skills Providing encouragement and emotional support Assisting with community events and activities Simply spending time with residents, listening, and helping families feel connected and supported

We are looking for volunteers who are patient, respectful, dependable, and committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for families working toward stability and permanent housing.

Sometimes the most meaningful support comes from a caring adult who shows up consistently, shares their wisdom, and reminds others that they are not alone.

If you believe it takes a village, we'd love to have you join ours. Please respond if you would like to support!!! :)
