On behalf of the Greater Everett Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Committee, we are honored to invite you to serve as a VOLUNTEER. We are seeking set-up support on Sunday (18th: 1-3pm) and day-of support on Monday (19th: 9:30-3pm). On Sunday we will set up chairs and tables for the resource fair. On Monday, we will greet the resource fair vendors to help them get ready, greet the marchers as they arrive, and put chairs/tables away after the rally.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!! A PIT Count is an unduplicated count of individuals experiencing homelessness in a community on a single night. The data collected helps inform local and national policies and programs aimed at addressing homelessness. We are focused on providing resources to folks that are unhoused. Warm clothing, blankets, hygiene items.

Volunteers will meet at location for each shift and determinations will be made on how each volunteer can assist. Locations to meet will be determined at a late date once all events have been confirmed. 

Locations: Skagit West County ( Anacortes, Bow, LaConner), Mount Vernon/Burlington, Skagit East County ( Sedro-Woolley, Concrete, Hamilton, Marblemount) 

We need your help!!

Please respond and let us know which volunteer duty you would be most interested in (we’ll do our best to match) 

Set-up/Tear-Down Aides – Help race organizers set up for the event (setting up tables, marking the route) and then packing up at the end of the event.

Registration Table/Finish Line – Will help hand out race bibs and help runners fill out waivers, as well as help race organizers at the end of the race.

Course Monitor - Placed along the race route to direct and cheer on athletes at specific locations. Will also help serve water at the water station. (Be willing to walk approximately a mile to get to destination.)

Parking Monitor – Directing participants on where to park and where to go for the event.

Volunteer hours: 7:30am-11:00am

Eat Happy is a food rescue nonprofit serving Puget Sound area. Our Mission is "Solving for hunger by rescuing healthy food going to landfill and delivering it real time to those in need, through nonprofit partners". Our Vision is "Using technology to seamlessly connect recovered surplus food and matching demand for real time delivery, redirecting surplus food from ending up in landfill" We operate in a way similar to an Online food delivery service like Uber Eats- when we receive donations, volunteers pick up the food and deliver it to those in need in the community. Volunteers use our app to sign up for jobs, picking up and delivering food in real time.

During the holidays and special events, we are always needing volunteers to help with small projects!

Do you have experience driving? Would you like to go on adventures with our seniors? The Carl Gipson Center is looking for drivers who have the ability to drive a 15 passenger vehicle. CDL is not required. 

Trips are usually between 5-6 hours and begin and end at the Carl Gipson Center. A staff member always accompanies the group. 

Trips are scheduled around driver availability. 

A driver's abstract and a reasonable driving record are required. 

Training on vehicle use will be provided. 

Do you have an interest in leading a special interest club or group? We are looking for individuals to organize board games, craft groups, and more! 

Greet and assist members and guests at the Carl Gipson Center!

Principal Activities:

Develop positive relationships with members and participants 

Process new member applications

Update member information as needed

Safeguard confidential information 

Check-in members and participants for activities

Act as a cashier for members' payments of dues, parking fees, and other financial transactions

Provide consistent center and agency information, and orient new members

Refer members as appropriate to programs and/or staff based on member goals/interests

Encourage member involvement and identify potential volunteers 

Proactively make sure members understand policies

Must possess basic computer skills
