Work Opportunities
Our agency was founded by a group of parents from the Edmonds School District Special Education Parents Group who dreamt that their sons and daughters would have the opportunity to become participating and contributing members of the community. This dream is now being extended to all adults with disabilities guided by the belief that through work, people with disabilities would experience increased self-esteem and have greater economic and social opportunities within the community.
Work Opportunities’ mission is to address inequities for individuals with disabilities through inclusive employment and community participation. We believe that a job is so much more than just a paycheck. It can mean independence, confidence, a social circle to belong to and a community to give back to. We are in our 60th year of providing supported employment services to nearly 500 people with disabilities, helping to reach goals of not only an income, but of becoming valued and participating members of our communities.
