Beautification Day is a community volunteer event dedicated to improving the appearance and health of our parks and public spaces. Volunteers of all ages and abilities are invited to participate in a morning of hands‑on outdoor projects that make a real and immediate impact. This is a great opportunity to connect with others, support your community, and enjoy time outside while helping keep Lake Stevens looking its best.
Participants will meet at the blue City tent in North Cove Park, which will serve as the check‑in point and base of operations. After signing in and receiving a brief orientation, volunteers will be assigned to project areas throughout the park and surrounding grounds. Tasks may include weeding landscape beds, raking, mulching, removing invasive plants, collecting litter, sweeping paths, trimming low branches, and supporting general cleanup efforts. All tools and equipment will be provided by the City, and our equipment trailer will be onsite with everything needed for the day’s projects.
Volunteers should come prepared for outdoor work by wearing sturdy, closed‑toe shoes and clothes that can get dirty. We also ask that participants bring work gloves and a refillable water bottle. City staff will be available throughout the event to provide guidance, answer questions, and ensure that work areas remain safe and well supported.
Beautification Day is designed to be approachable and rewarding, whether you’ve volunteered many times before or this is your first community event. All tasks can be adapted to suit different comfort levels, and families, service groups, clubs, and individuals are all welcome. Your efforts will help create cleaner, safer, and more beautiful public spaces for everyone to enjoy.
Join us in making a positive difference—your time and energy truly matter. We look forward to working alongside you!
